Planning your entertainment

String Quartets: what couples ask

Practical answers about pricing, timing and what to confirm before you book.

What does a string quartet cost?

Ceremony bookings are commonly between about $1,200 and $2,800; drinks and dinner add to that. Travel outside the metro area is usually extra.

Can they play modern songs?

Yes. Most quartets carry arrangements of current pop and film songs alongside the classical repertoire. Ask for their song list.

Do they need amplification outdoors?

A quartet carries well in a garden for a ceremony of up to about 100 guests. For larger or windy sites, some bring light amplification.
