Yacht Rock Revival
The act
Yacht Rock Revival is a Melbourne-based tribute show.
Smooth rock from the 70s and early 80s is the whole idea here, with the glossy, singalong side of that era front and centre. You'll hear songs tied to Michael McDonald, Hall & Oates, Steely Dan and Toto, played by a Melbourne band that leans into vintage costumes and a bit of tongue in cheek humour on stage. The show runs on vocal harmonies, sax solos and groove-led basslines, so it could land well at a wedding where canapes turn into dancing and plenty of guests know the words. Outside weddings, they've played events and stages including Federation Square, Hamilton Island Yacht Week and Carnival Cruise Lines. For a couple planning a themed celebration, or a dance floor with a soft spot for smooth rock nostalgia, Yacht Rock Revival feels like a fun call.
