Amy Winehouse: Resurrected is a Bellevue Hill-based tribute show.
This lands better at a wedding where a funny, poignant Amy Winehouse tribute and some blue language will feel welcome, not at a very buttoned-up family affair. It’s a 70 minute show built around a darkly comic setup: after hearing Tony Bennett has died, Amy races to the pearly gates hoping to talk her idol into recording with her again. That gives you more than a run of songs, while still keeping Amy’s hits in the set and slipping in a few that some guests may not know. And it doesn’t dodge the iconography either, because the beehive is part of the picture.
