The act
The Funkadelic Side is a Melbourne-based tribute band.
James Brown's look and stage character are part of The Funkadelic Side's tribute, alongside the music itself. Michael GT Blair fronts the show, taking on the vocal role and personality of its subject in a performance built around those songs. Cold Sweat and I Feel Good are among the titles, with Sex Machine also in the repertoire. For your wedding, you could give the tribute a dedicated place after dinner, with the room's attention on the performance before deciding how the rest of the evening should unfold. Horns drive the band's funky rhythm and blues sound, giving the show its instrumental character behind the lead voice.

Good to know
What to expect
This is a full show, not a covers bracket with a few soul numbers in it. Michael GT Blair takes on the look, the voice and the swagger of the Godfather himself, and the band behind him is built around the horn section. Cold Sweat and Get on the Good Foot both get a run, alongside Papa's Got a Brand New Bag, I Feel Good, Sex Machine and It's a Man's Man's Man's World, with plenty more from the same catalogue. The rhythm and blues underneath it is funky enough that people stop watching and start moving.
