Two guitars, a classical and a seven-string, playing Brazilian repertoire most Australian audiences have never heard and immediately want more of. The Steyer Brothers work through choro and bossa nova, Pixinguinha and Villa-Lobos, Baden Powell, Garoto and Gilberto Gil, with jazz standards sitting alongside. It is intimate music, complex enough to hold attention and beautiful enough that people stop talking to listen, which makes it a strong choice for cocktail hour or pre-dinner drinks at a Sydney corporate function or private event. They can bring their own equipment or plug into yours. Both carry public liability insurance and a Working With Children check.

Good to know
What to expect
Classical guitar and seven-string guitar together, played close and quiet, which makes it a natural fit for cocktail hour or the drinks before dinner at a corporate or private event. The repertoire is unusual for Australian ears and that works in its favour. It is intricate music, and it is beautiful, and between those two things it tends to catch the attention of people who came intending to talk through the background music.
On the day
On the technical side they need two mixer channels, one of which must carry phantom power. The classical guitar runs a DPA mic, so it wants a mic lead. The seven-string has its own DI and needs a lead as well. Add one foldback wedge for monitoring, access to a power point, and two chairs to sit on. If your venue is not set up for any of that, they can bring their own equipment instead. It depends on the event and how the space is arranged, so mention it when you get in touch.
