Others want something classier in the background, and it works there too. Lisa Hanley sees her job partly as paying the original writers a compliment, which is a decent way to think about covers. What to expect
Five hours plus of material sits ready, which means the music can keep going long after most solo sets have run dry. It's pop and it's classic hits, sixties through to whatever charted last year, and a good chunk of it Lisa Hanley has reworked so it sits properly on a guitar rather than sounding like a song missing its band. Some rooms turn it into a dance floor. Others leave it running behind the conversation and it holds up there just as well. Got a song that has to be played? Tell her before the day and she'll work it in.
On the day
One power socket does it. Lisa Hanley owns the sound gear, and she's got enough of it to cover a small function room or fill something considerably bigger, so there's no PA to organise at your end. What she does ask for is somewhere flat to stand and somewhere dry. That second part matters if you're planning anything outdoors, so have a wet weather spot in mind before the day arrives.
