He'll work out with you what your event actually needs from a comedian before committing to anything. And if the honest answer is that he's the wrong fit, he'll tell you and point you at someone who suits it better. That kind of straightness is rarer than it should be. Content level, set length and how long he's on for are all part of that conversation.
A microphone and speakers. That's the short version, and most venues already have both. A stage and lighting help the set land but he can work without them, standing on the floor in front of the room if that's what you've got. If you haven't got sound gear, he can bring it.
