Spanish flamenco guitar wired into electronic rhythms. Sydney guitarist Mike Rizk leads Flamenco Electro, where the guitar melodies sit over percussion, bass, keys and modern grooves. The full show is a four to five piece band, and it takes in traditional flamenco, Gypsy Kings style progressive playing, flamenco house, vocals, dance and contemporary world dance. Solo and duo formats exist for the quieter end of things, ceremonies, cocktail hours, restaurants and networking events where Spanish guitar is the point. Dancers, extra percussionists and vocalists can be added for bigger productions. The band can bring its own PA if the venue has none.

The show gets shaped to the event, but the elements are consistent. Traditional flamenco sits alongside the progressive Gypsy Kings style playing, then flamenco house pushes it toward the dance floor. Vocals run through it. Flamenco dance and modern contemporary world dance are part of the picture too, so there's something to watch as well as listen to. Which parts get more room depends on what you're running.
The full band is four to five players, so allow floor space accordingly. If your venue has no PA, they'll bring their own, which takes one problem off your list. Worth telling them which way it is when you enquire, because it changes the load-in.
