Hot Potato
The act
Hot Potato is a Sydney-based contemporary brass band.
Roaming brass is what this Sydney act does, as an offshoot of the Hot Potato Band collective. Instead of playing from a stage, the players walk among your guests, which tends to pull people onto the dance floor. Over 15-plus years the band has created its own shows and toured them through Australia, New Zealand, Europe, the Pacific Islands and the Middle East. Hot Potato's take on the traditional brass band is colourful, high in energy and full of quirky humour. At a wedding, a roaming set during canapés can lead your guests from the ceremony spot into the reception. It is also a lively way to start the dancing once the formalities are done.
