Here's the running order. It opens with a short funny introduction that plays like stand-up and gets the room paying attention. Then Gerard asks for volunteers, and more hands go up than you'd guess. The hypnotising itself happens right in front of the audience, nothing hidden. And then the gags start, which is the part people talk about afterwards. It's built so the whole room is in on it, not just the people who came up.
You need a private space, some chairs and an audience. A stage isn't always necessary, particularly under 150 people, though if you do have one it wants to be big enough to hold the volunteers. Pro AV is welcome if the venue has it. If not, Gerard can usually bring speakers and lights along at no extra cost. The rest is handled at his end.
