Over 30 years hosting events has taken Col Cameron from Paris to Cancun to Moonee Ponds, and he still likes the job. As MC he lifts multi day conferences with sharp introductions, audience work, improvisation and in depth interviews, drawing on years spent touring as a stand up, playing roving characters, working as a musician, recording voice overs and training corporate teams. L'Oreal, Citibank Asia, Omexom, HIA, Tourism Malaysia, Target and Coles are all on the recent client list. He starts with a short meeting, online or in person, does his homework on your organisation beforehand, then mostly listens. He can also deliver a keynote, run team building, call a live auction or record short teaser videos in his own studio to send out before the event. Melbourne based, always fully insured.

What to expect
It starts with a quick meeting, online or in person, and Col Cameron reckons that's the best part of the job. He'll have researched your organisation before you speak, so the meeting isn't spent explaining who you are. He listens instead: what you're trying to achieve, what the day has to do, what you're worried about. The more you tell him, the better the result. He'll answer questions about how he works, and if you're still deciding between MCs, he'll set out what he'd do with your event.
On the day
It depends on what he's doing for you. For straight MC work he turns up early, checks the microphone and the lighting, and that's about the size of it. If he's delivering something bigger, a live auction, an interactive segment with guests on stage, a keynote, he'll get in touch with your audio visual team before the day so nobody is solving problems while the room fills up.
Performance options
Beyond hosting, Col can deliver a keynote, build and run a team building session, or take the gala. There's a video option worth knowing about: he records short branded teaser or call to action clips in his own studio for you to send out before the event. Guests get to know him before they meet him, which helps the room warm up faster, and it's a handy way to pass on late details like a venue change, parking or a wet weather plan. That one carries a small extra fee.
