No vocals, just a guitar. Chris Gogerly plays laid back Latin and jazz for rooms where people want to eat, drink and hear each other talk. Think Besame Mucho, Girl From Ipanema, Blue Bossa, Take Five and Corcovado, alongside Gypsy Kings numbers, a couple of Bob Marley tunes and some of his own pieces like Rumba Del Mort and Merimbula Bossa. Sets typically run two of 25 minutes, or two of 45 for longer bookings, with a small PA, drum machine and looper for backing. Melbourne based. He needs a power point, and cover overhead if you're outdoors, though battery power can be arranged. Public liability insurance is current.

Good to know
What to expect
No singing, just guitar, and that's the point. Chris Gogerly plays Latin and jazz at a level where a table of eight can still hear each other, which is harder than it sounds. Sets are relaxed and never pushy, so the music sits under the conversation and lifts the room a little rather than taking it over. Good for a long lunch, a dinner party or drinks before something else starts. He brings his own small PA and is happy to travel to most places within reason.
On the day
A power point close to where he's playing, and that's most of it. If you're putting him outside he'll need cover overhead. And if there's genuinely no power where you want the music, say so early: battery power for the PA can be sorted, it just needs arranging in advance rather than on the day.
Performance options
Two shapes to choose from. The shorter booking runs an hour, played as two sets of about 25 minutes. The longer one runs two hours, split into two 45 minute sets. Both come with a small PA, a drum machine and a looper pedal for backing, so there's more going on than one guitar. What you'll pay shifts with the length, the day of the week and how far he has to travel.
