What to expect
Benjamin has hosted rooms of five and rooms of twelve thousand, and the same thing happens in both. The night runs to schedule, the audience stays with it, and nobody watches the organiser panic. Twenty years of performing and presenting is what buys that. He'll talk through what you're trying to achieve first and shape his approach to it, rather than arriving with a set routine. Weddings, corporate functions, awards nights, conferences, fundraisers, community events. Quick on his feet when the program slips, which it usually does somewhere.
On the day
Not much, and it flexes to the venue. For bigger functions a microphone and PA are preferred. If there's a keynote or a presentation with visuals, you'll want a lectern, a projector and a screen. Benjamin will talk to your venue staff and technical crew beforehand rather than leaving it to the day, so say who to contact.
Performance options
MC and hosting is the main one, covering weddings, engagements, corporate functions, gala dinners, awards nights, conferences and community celebrations. Then there's keynote speaking, written for the audience in front of him, whether that's a school, a university, a business or a member organisation. Those talks sit around communication, creativity, media, leadership and the craft of performing. Panel moderation and Q and A hosting is the third option, and it suits interviews, conventions and festivals.
