What to expect
He arrives about an hour before start time, finds you, gets a feel for the space and meets the staff, then sets up. That buffer is deliberate. It absorbs whatever goes sideways so the music still starts on time. In ear monitors mean you keep full control of the room volume without the performance suffering for it. Between sets he covers the gap with music while he has a drink and gets his breath back, and he stays quiet and out of the way during the breaks. For DJ work he turns up in a suit.
On the day
Room for a pedal board and a drum pad stand, a power point within reach, and a sensible patch of space he can play in for a few hours. That's the base requirement. Front of house speakers, lighting and a smoke machine can all come from him as options. The smoke is water based, so it won't set off your venue's alarms, which is the question most venues ask first.
