The act
Flute and guitar is not the usual pub duo pairing, which is rather the point. Wind and Wood work out of Cairns across folk, blues, country rock, jazz blues and soul, mixing covers with their own arrangements and original songs, and the vocal harmonies do a lot of the lifting. More than 260 songs sit in the book, and they'd rather talk to you first and build a set list around the event than hand over a fixed one. Set up fits inside a six by four metre space, with two microphones, a stomp pedal rack and their own PA. They carry performers insurance.

Good to know
What to expect
Flute and guitar, with vocal harmony over the top, which is not the pairing most rooms are expecting. Wind and Wood move through folk, soul, jazz, rock and blues, and the set mixes covers with their own arrangements and original material. The instrumentation keeps it listenable at conversation level and still lets them lift a room when the night wants lifting.
On the day
Everything they use fits inside roughly six metres by four. Two microphones, a stomp pedal rack for the guitar, and their own PA and desk, so the sound side is handled without the venue supplying anything. If the corner you had in mind is tighter than that, mention it early and they'll tell you whether it works.
