A Sydney covers outfit that works as a trio or a four piece, Wildcatz aim squarely at the dance floor. The set runs from Blinding Lights and Uptown Funk through pub rock staples like Khe Sanh and April Sun in Cuba, then out into Moves Like Jagger, Shake It Off and current top 40. As a trio it's two sixty minute sets, which suits smaller rooms and parties. The four piece steps up to three forty five minute sets with the full production for weddings and corporate nights. Sound, lighting, setup and pack down are all handled by the band, and nothing goes through amps on stage, so the volume stays under control. A sound tech comes as part of it. Wildcatz play for the dance floor, and they know when a room is ready to be pushed and when it isn't. Sing-alongs are part of it. So is fitting around your schedule instead of running to their own, which matters when speeches and a cake and a first dance all have to land at the right moment. Sound, lighting, setting up and packing down are the band's job, not yours.
Power is the one thing the venue supplies. Floor space depends on which line-up you book: the trio takes three metres by two, and the four piece needs five by three. Give them an hour before guests walk in and everything will be up, tested and quiet by the time the first person arrives. All sound and lighting equipment is theirs.
Two line-ups, and they suit different rooms. The trio plays two sets of sixty minutes with sound and lights included, which works for smaller parties and tighter venues. The four piece runs three sets of forty five minutes with the full production behind it, and that's the one for weddings, corporate nights and larger functions. Both come with the whole PA and lighting rig, a setlist built for your event, and a sound tech on the night. Nothing is amped on stage, so the sound stays clean and the volume stays where it should be instead of blasting the tables nearest the band. If neither shape quite fits, tell them what you're picturing and they'll put something else together.
