Who Key

The act

Piano first, voice second, and both of them earning their keep. Who Key writes and plays covers and originals sitting somewhere between Elton John, Ben Folds and a bit of Ed Sheeran, with fifteen years of gigs across Sydney and Brisbane behind the songbook. Tiny Dancer, Piano Man, New York State of Mind, Fly Me To The Moon, The Chain. Conservatorium level classical playing is in there too, which means the same act can hold a room's attention or sit politely in the background while people talk. Vocals are optional. So is an original song written for a wedding or anniversary, built around the couple's own story. Digital piano, mic, amp and leads all come along. All that's needed is a power point and something overhead if rain is a chance.

Good to know

What to expect

Who Key shapes the night around what you actually want from it. Fifteen years of gigs sit behind that, across alt rock originals, classic covers and classical piano at conservatorium standard, so the range is genuinely there. Want him talking to the room between songs, taking requests, running the mood? He'll do that. Want piano that simply sits under the conversation and never asks for attention? He'll do that too. And vocals are a choice rather than a given. Some events call for singing, some are better with just the keys, and you decide which one yours is.

On the day

The music side is covered. Digital piano, microphone, amplifier, stands and leads all travel with him, which suits most venues without anything hired in. What he needs from you is small: one or two wall outlets within reach. Outdoors, put something over the performance spot. A tarp will do. Rain and electricity are a bad mix, and wet gear is dead gear, so it's worth sorting before the day rather than on it.

Performance options

Weddings run to a shape everyone recognises, so there are set wedding options built around it. You can have piano while guests arrive and take their seats, with the repertoire your call. You can have a song of your choosing for the walk down the aisle. And you can have him singing and playing through the reception, picking every song yourself or handing the list over entirely. Anything you want that isn't already in the repertoire gets learned properly and played on the day. Those pieces combine: ceremony arrivals, the aisle, the reception, or all three together. Other events don't follow a script the same way, so those get quoted individually once he knows what you're planning.
