TRACE
The act
Fronted by a female vocalist with a tight rhythm section of bass, drums and electric guitar, TRACE mix funk, old school soul and pop and rock classics. The band has history: a packed Suncorp Stadium at a Broncos NRL match, support slots for Daryl Braithwaite, Jon Stevens and the Choirboys, and guest entertainer spots on a P&O cruise to Vanuatu, across 20 years of corporate and wedding work. Book them as anything from a duo up to a six piece with sax and a second vocalist. They'll bring sound and lighting sized to your guest list, or work in with an AV crew you've already booked. Billie Jean, Dancing Queen and Don't Start Now all get a run.

Good to know
What to expect
A female vocalist out front, with bass, drums and electric guitar behind her, playing funky dance numbers, old school soul, and pop and rock classics. Nearly 20 years of corporate and wedding work sits behind the band, and the highlights are worth knowing: a packed Suncorp Stadium for a Broncos NRL match, opening slots for Daryl Braithwaite, Jon Stevens and the Choirboys, and a stint as guest entertainers on a P&O cruise to Vanuatu. They're built for filling a dance floor, whatever the size of the room. Add a sax or a second lead vocalist for a five piece, or both for a six piece, which gives you more happening on stage and a bigger sound behind it.
On the day
For the four piece, allow either 5 metres wide by 2 deep, or 4 metres wide by 3.5 deep. One power outlet near the stage is enough. Outdoors is fine as long as the full stage area is covered against sun and rain, and the surface is flat, hard, clean and dry. Grass and dirt are out. Have a wet weather plan sorted in advance, because a cancellation for bad weather still means the full fee is payable.
Set List
The pop party list is where most of the night lives. Modern chart songs sit next to the ones everybody's known for decades: Don't Start Now, Levitating and Be the One by Dua Lipa, Flowers, Bad Guy, Havana, Cake by the Ocean and Can't Feel My Face, then Billie Jean, Kiss, Dancing Queen, Material Girl, Holiday, Faith and Crazy Little Thing Called Love. Funk and soul get a decent stretch, Le Freak, Long Train Runnin', Play That Funky Music, Blame It on the Boogie, I Feel Good and Cosmic Girl. And there's a run of big vocal moments in there, I Wanna Dance With Somebody, Mercy, Crazy and Shania Twain's Man I Feel Like a Woman.
Performance options
The four piece is a female vocalist, bass guitar with male lead vocals, drums and electric guitar. Five piece adds either sax or a second female lead vocalist. Six piece is two female vocalists plus sax, bass, drums and electric guitar. Sound and lighting can come from the band, scaled to however many guests you're expecting, or they'll work in with an AV crew you've already got booked and use that production equipment instead, which brings their cost down.
