What to expect
Live, Toby strips it back. That's a deliberate contrast to his studio recordings, which range further across the genres that feed his writing and push past what people expect from a solo artist. On stage it's just the songs and the man playing them. He has supported Thirsty Merc, Josh Pyke and Winterbourne, and he's been called one of the hardest working independent touring musicians in the country. In 2024 he drove 14,000km in 28 days to take his In Between The Words album through every state and territory. Reviewing that record, Tyler Jenke singled out Mobbs' artistry and what he called an impeccable ability to pen a tune.
On the day
Every bit of gear Toby needs travels with him, lighting included, so nothing has to be hired or sourced at your end. That covers the sound and the look of the performance without your venue having to supply either. Worth knowing if you are working somewhere that has no in-house system, or if the room is one you are dressing from scratch on the day.
