Rebecca Scholte and Michael Braendler have been working as Timbres since 2017, and the pair reckon a crowd that gets into the music is the best part of the job. Guitar, two voices and quality backing tracks cover 1950s rock and roll, Motown, 60s pop, the 70s and 80s, and current Top 40. They'll do laid back or upbeat, and they can go acoustic if that suits the room better. Requests get learned when they're confident of doing the song justice. Three or four sets is normal, with background music between them and a wireless mic available for speeches. They bring their own PA and lights, need a power point and a three metre square, and both members also play in full bands elsewhere. Insured.

Good to know
What to expect
Rebecca and Michael pull from a wide catalogue, which is the point of the act. 1950s rock and roll, Motown, 60s pop, the 70s and 80s, then straight through to current chart material. They'll play it upbeat and rocky, or take the whole thing acoustic if the room suits that better. Ask for a particular song for a special moment and they'll learn it, provided they're confident they can do it justice. Quality backing tracks sit under the guitar and two voices, run through a professional PA with lights.
On the day
One standard power point and a minimum of three metres square. Set up takes somewhere between an hour and 90 minutes depending on the occasion, and pack down is about half an hour, so factor that into either end of your run sheet.
Performance options
Three or four sets of music is the usual shape, and the exact number moves with the occasion. Between sets they'll run background music, so the room isn't sitting in silence while people eat or move around. A wireless microphone is there for an MC or speeches. Weddings can include a request they've learned beforehand, again as long as they feel they can do the song properly. Public liability cover, sound and lighting production and travel are all part of what they bring rather than things you organise separately.
