The act
Classics, played acoustic, with a twist the band puts on them rather than a straight copy. The Velvet Helmets come out of the Shellharbour area on the NSW south coast and aim squarely at the dance floor, which is not always what you expect from an acoustic rock band. Size is flexible: two, three, four or five pieces depending on the room and the budget. Pub gigs, functions, anything where people want songs they know. They'll need power points and a level spot under cover, and the rest they handle.

The Velvet Helmets play rock songs most people in the room will already know, and they play them with enough push that the dance floor fills the way it would for a full electric band. That is the whole point of the act. You get the warmth and clarity of acoustic playing without losing the energy, and the song choices stay firmly on the familiar side rather than drifting into anything obscure. Expect people up and moving well before the last set.
