The Urban Souls
The act
Four players, and a Hammond organ sitting at the centre of the sound. The Urban Souls work through Australian, British and American rock with that keyboard doing a lot of the heavy lifting, pulling from Steve Winwood, Little River Band, the Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan and Manfred Mann. It's music built for a room where people actually listen as well as dance. The band gigs regularly around Melbourne's live hotels, clubs and RSLs, so they're used to reading a Friday night crowd and playing to it. Blues, classic rock and the 60s through to the 90s all sit inside the set.
