The Sitch

The act

Ten years and counting of matching the music to the moment. The Sitch are Gene Mitchell on vocals, guitars and loops, John Sandow on keyboards and Leyne Elbourne on vocals and percussion, and they've built a name on reading a room properly. Private parties, weddings, street festivals, markets and aged care homes are all regular work, which tells you how far the repertoire stretches: Elvis, the Beatles, ABBA, Doris Day, Sinatra, the Eagles, Bob Marley, Creedence, the Stones, Kylie, plus 50s rock and roll, 70s soul and disco and 80s pop. Upbeat, laid back, or a bit of each. They hold public liability insurance, police checks and working with children checks.

Good to know

What to expect

Three musicians. Gene Mitchell sings and handles guitars and loops, Leyne Elbourne takes vocals and percussion, and John Sandow is the one at the keyboards. Between them they cover a wide stretch of material and adjust the set to suit the occasion, which is why they turn up everywhere from a private party to a market day. Song lists and set up options can be talked through before you commit to anything.

On the day

What The Sitch need is a PA with two microphones, two extra DI boxes and at least one foldback wedge so they can hear themselves. Most function venues already have that sitting there. If yours doesn't, they own a PA and can bring it instead, so a bare room is still workable. Worth checking with your venue early, because it's the one thing that changes what they carry in.

Performance options

The trio can supply their own PA when you need it. If the venue already has sound covered, they will simply plug into that instead.
