Jazz and funk sit at the base, then soul, boogie, blues, rock, reggae, Afro-Cuban rhythms and a small serve of hip-hop get stirred through, all of it held together by percussion grooves and layers of vocal harmony. The Seratones are friends first, which is audible. Jack Harrison on guitar and vocals, Anthony Done on bass and vocals, and the rest filling out a five piece. They've played clubs, corporate functions, cafes, halls, country shows, festivals, weddings, anniversaries and house parties. The band say themselves they're at their best where people are eating, drinking and actually listening, before the dance floor takes over later. Their set list runs from Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock through Sam Cooke, Alicia Keys and Vulfpeck. They bring their own PA, lighting and backline.

What to expect
Funk, soul, jazz, boogie, rock, Afro-Cuban rhythms and reggae, with a small dash of hip hop stirred in. The Seratones build it on percussion grooves and layered vocal harmonies, and the effect is a room that starts tapping and finishes dancing. Jack Harrison plays guitar and sings, Anthony Done is on bass and vocals, Rob Donelly on keyboard, Sam Boyd on drums, and Kim Moxham handles sax, flute and harmonica. Halls and country shows, cafes and clubs, corporate functions, festivals, weddings, anniversary parties and nights at somebody's house have all had this band in them, so the five of them read a room quickly.
On the day
The band brings a full technical package. That means a 16 channel desk with an external source input, two powered front of house subs at 450 watts a side, a large 2000 watt sub, three foldback wedges and five Shure SM58 microphones including one for the MC. Up to eight small LED spots go on the floor or on a tree. Drums are single kick micked, and keys, bass and guitar all run through their own amps into the PA. They also hang a band sign, so allow roughly three metres of wall for it.
