Two acoustic guitars, two voices, and a snare played with brushes. That's the whole rig, and The Quokkas get a surprisingly big sound out of it. Based in Lawson in the Blue Mountains, they build sets that wander further than most: Paul Kelly, Bruce Springsteen, Simon and Garfunkel, Tom Petty, The Angels, Ed Sheeran, World Party, and Irish tunes a few centuries older than any of it. The harmonies are the thing people mention. So is the variety, because they like springing a surprise mid-set.
