The McAvaneys are a Melbourne acoustic duo working through the Stones, Bowie, Pink Floyd, Tom Petty, INXS, Midnight Oil and Johnny Cash, plus a version of Queen with a bit of twang in it. Everything picked is something a room full of people can sing along to after a couple of beers. There's an EP and an album of their own songs, and originals like Last Man Standing and Pot Of Gold turn up mid set alongside the covers. They've supported Tania Kernaghan. Sunday afternoons in the sun and local pubs are the natural home. PA comes with them, so all they need is space and a power point.
