Vocals and guitar carry classics from the twenties through to the fifties, with contemporary pop also reworked in a Postmodern Jukebox style. What to expect
Two musicians, vocals and guitar, dressed in vintage-inspired attire and playing at a level that lets your guests hear each other talk. That last part matters more at a dinner than most people realise. The material moves between upbeat swing and slower ballads depending on where the evening is. Sets are usually two lots of 45 minutes, though they'll reshape that around your run sheet. Setup and pack-down are quick and quiet. And if you need someone to handle announcements, Jennifer and Mark can MC as well.
On the day
If they're bringing the PA, they need one power outlet near where they'll play, or a heads-up beforehand if an extension lead is required. The performance space should be flat, sheltered and at least 2m by 2m. Outdoor bookings need a wet weather plan. Setting up and sound checking takes them roughly 30 to 40 minutes. For sites with no power at all they have wireless speakers and microphones, just say so in advance. Where the venue supplies sound, they'll send full tech specs across.
Performance options
The core booking is two 45 minute sets of jazz vocals and guitar, standards from the 1920s through the 1950s with the odd modern song rearranged into that era, PA included and suitable for up to 200 guests. For a wedding there's a ceremony version: 30 minutes as guests arrive, live music through the aisle, signing and exit, then a 45 minute set over drinks and canapes, with a request song learned for the day. A full evening runs up to three sets with the setlist built around you. There's a Roaring 20s option leaning hard into Jazz Age material and dress. And the line-up can grow, to a quartet with drums, double bass and trumpet, or as far as nine pieces.
