Roaming minstrels one day, a full function band the next. The Jackson Combo covers blues, soul, jazz, rock and disco, with Van Morrison, Ella Fitzgerald and Marvin Gaye at one end and Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars and Sam Smith at the other. The wandering trio, or quartet when the sousaphone comes out, is built for festivals, fetes, markets, shopping centre activations and outdoor community events, and works fully acoustic with no power needed if that's easier. Fixed acts bring their own PA and lighting for rooms up to about 300, with staging and operators arranged for anything larger. Sizes run from soloist to a band with a brass section, and an MC service is available. They hold public liability cover.

There's more than one act under this name. Roaming minstrels, a cheeky trio that becomes a quartet when the sousaphone comes along, wander through festivals, fetes, markets and shopping precinct activations engaging with whoever's in front of them. Sit-down options run from a soulful duo through to a swinging jazz quartet and a blues band. La Bamba to Uptown Funk, Van Morrison to Ella Fitzgerald, Coldplay to Marvin Gaye. Nothing gets treated as too sacred to have a go at. Tell them the setting and they'll tell you which of the acts suits it.
On the day
The fully roaming acoustic version needs nothing at all, no power, no setup point, which makes it the easy choice for parks, markets and street events. Semi-roaming and fixed acts need one power point, indoors or out. For rooms up to around 300 people the band is self-contained with its own PA and lighting. Above that, or for festivals, they'll organise staging, marquee, larger PA and operators through people they work with regularly.
Performance options
The usual approach is to run one act into another across the evening. An acoustic soloist, duo or trio covers guest arrivals, then the quartet or a larger line-up with the brass section takes over for the main function and the dancing. MC hosting can be added to any of that. There's also Harmony and Glitter Balls, which starts as an acoustic quartet with four part harmony over arrivals and dinner, then turns into the Disco Extravaganza for the back half of the night.
