The act
If you want your wedding reception to feel like a full band show, The Iconics have eleven musicians to bring to that idea. Five lead singers, a horn section of three and a rhythm section perform a catalogue exceeding one hundred and twenty five songs across seven decades. You can choose songs from that catalogue, and the band can learn a special first dance request as well as provide an acoustic trio, string quartet or MC service. Listen with your reception in mind, then enquire about the combination of full band music and smaller ensembles that would give each part of your day its own character.

What to expect
Eleven musicians, and the arrangement is written so you hear all of them. Three female leads, two male leads, three horns and a rhythm section aimed straight at the dance floor, working a catalogue of over 125 songs spanning seven decades of pop, disco, soul, funk and rock. Canberra audiences have seen them at Floriade, Stage88, the Southern Cross Club and the Hellenic Club. You choose the songs from the list yourself, and for a wedding they'll learn your first dance number. Smaller shapes exist too: an acoustic trio, a string quartet, and MC duties if you want them.
On the day
This is the section to read before you book the room. The band needs three hours in the venue before guests arrive to bump in and sound check properly. Playing area is 6m x 5m, and while something tighter can sometimes work, one of the band needs to look at it first. Four separate 10 amp outlets are essential, and more again above 300 guests. Performance must be under cover, for the crew as much as the equipment, and the sound desk needs a sensible spot too.
Performance options
Beyond the eleven piece there's an acoustic trio, useful for a ceremony or the earlier, quieter part of a wedding, and a string quartet made up of Canberra Philharmonic musicians. Both run as one hour sets. MC services are available as well, so the announcements and the running order can sit with the same people handling the music. Any of these can sit alongside the full band across one event, which is how most weddings end up using them.
