The act
For the drinks hour at your wedding, Sugar Blue would be a warm choice if you like jazz with a little reggae and funk woven through it. Pete Michell moves between guitar, percussion and saxophones, with instruments ranging from soprano down to baritone giving him several ways into the music. Alongside him are drummer Scott Hay and Vince Wienckowsky, who plays both electric and double bass. Their experience takes in small trio performances as well as festival quartets, while Pete has also led bands of his own. The repertoire reaches from established standards into contemporary songs, giving you room to choose a musical direction that feels personal.
