Ten years of playing together is what you're hearing with Southwall. Mark Heazlett sings, with country in his roots and a big voice on both his own songs and the contemporary material he loves. Toby Andrews plays guitar with a blues improviser's ear, mostly understated and occasionally dazzling. Matt Bone holds the bass end and Mat Akehurst keeps the whole thing steady from the drums. The set runs through Jolene, Wicked Game, Never Tear Us Apart, Valerie and The Weight, so expect soul and roots as much as rock. Based at Brunswick Heads and available as a duo, a trio or the full four piece. They can bring their own PA.

Good to know
What to expect
Four musicians out of the Northern Rivers who have been doing this long enough that nothing rattles them. What you get is a considered, properly played set rather than a band winging it, and the ten years behind the line-up shows in how tight the four of them sit together. Southwall can come as the full four piece, and where a space is tight or the evening is meant to stay conversational, the same players work it as a trio or a pair instead.
