Male and female singers share the line up with horns and a rhythm section, recreating music spanning funk, RnB and blues. Their repertoire includes selections by Aretha Franklin and James Brown alongside music from Chicago and The Commitments. Based in Byron Bay, the band has wedding experience and a history that includes appearances at the Byron Bay Blues & Roots Festival. SOUL'D work the great labels of the late fifties through the seventies: Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, Sam Cooke, with The Supremes, The Temptations, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas and Smokey Robinson and the Miracles at the Motown end. Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Sam and Dave, The Four Tops, Junior Walker and the All Stars, Jackie Wilson, Eddie Floyd, Booker T and the MGs, The Contours, The Mar-Keys and Earth Wind and Fire all get a look in. Then Joe Cocker, Chicago, Blood Sweat and Tears, plus a run at The Blues Brothers and The Commitments. Dance floor music, played by a band big enough to do it properly.
