They'll talk through what you're after and build the list around it, so no two nights come out identical. The atmosphere they aim for is relaxed rather than showy, and a fair bit of their attention goes into making sure your event just runs smoothly around them.
On the day
Clear them a performance area and make sure there's a wall socket within reach. That's it. Two people with acoustic gear don't take much room, but the spot does need to be defined before guests arrive, otherwise you end up moving tables at the last minute. Somewhere with a bit of visibility to the floor works best for the reception part of a night.
Performance options
Weddings break into three parts and you can book any of them. The ceremony covers the walk down the aisle, the signing of the register and the exit. Canapes run one or two sets of around 45 to 50 minutes with short breaks. The reception is two or three sets over dinner plus the first dance, with party sets available afterwards from a dance playlist. Combine them as you like: ceremony and canapes, ceremony through to reception, or the full day from the aisle to the last song.
