Jerry Speiser played drums in Men at Work. John Phillips played guitar in Goanna. Put them alongside singer Pat Byrne and you get Sons of The Blues, a Melbourne trio built on Willie Dixon and Robert Johnson rather than nostalgia for their own back catalogue. They're improvisers first, so the arrangements move about and the set breathes differently every night. Sweet Home Chicago, Crossroads Blues, I'm Ready, Pride and Joy, Who Do You Love and Kind Hearted Woman all sit in the book.
