Lakota Vella and Rachel Trainor are both multi-instrumentalists, and Siren makes full use of it. Electric and acoustic guitars, a drum pad, looping stations and vocal harmonies stacked on top give two people the range of a much bigger band. The repertoire covers five decades, putting a modern spin on soul classics and running through rock, blues and contemporary pop. What makes it useful is how quickly they can turn: a chilled acoustic set during dinner, then a dance floor within a couple of songs. Good for weddings, private functions, corporate events and venues.
