The act
Ruby Gill's debut single, Your Mum, made a mark on the industry and, by her own account, the kitchen. She toured South Africa nationally to sold-out rooms before that, and her festival credits include Oppikoppi and Woodford Folk Festival. Her debut album follows. On stage she's a folk and indie singer songwriter with a presence that holds a room, the sort of set you'd catch on a small stage at a festival rather than a main one. Based in Melbourne. She performs with piano and guitar and needs only a simple PA: two mics and inputs for both instruments.

A simple PA covers it. Two microphones, plus an input for the piano and another for the guitar, which is inside what most small venue systems already handle. No specialist rig, no extra channels to find. If your room already runs sound for acoustic acts, it is almost certainly enough as it stands.
