During wedding drinks, Rodrigo Santiago's guitar could introduce a meeting of flamenco, Latin music and jazz to the gathering. Born in Spain, he completed a jazz performance degree at Brisbane's Jazz Music Institute in 2016. His musical life includes more than a decade of performing nationally and internationally, with four albums he produced himself. What to expect
Rodrigo Santiago was born in Spain and grew up surrounded by music, taking up guitar after hearing some of the instrument's great players. He finished a Bachelor of Jazz Performance at the Jazz Music Institute in Brisbane in 2016 and has spent the decade since working the Brisbane scene through residencies, festivals, private functions, and government and community events. He has self produced four albums and worked on collaborative studio projects with the Jazz Music Institute, JMC Academy, Queensland Conservatorium and Sound Audio Engineering. Performing has taken him to Japan, India, Spain, Italy, France, Switzerland, Thailand and Colombia, and the playing blends gypsy jazz, flamenco and Latin music.
On the day
A full PA system and lighting can come with him if the venue has neither. Battery powered equipment is available as well, which opens up gardens, lawns and other spots with no power nearby.
