The act
Straight ahead jazz with a hard bop edge, played by a Brisbane quartet that formed in early 2025. Lochlan Robinson leads from the drums, with Sharon Elaine on trumpet and vocals, Lucius Reynolds at the piano and Isaac Warland on double bass. Every member has studied or is still studying jazz at the Jazz Music Institute, and the listening shows: Art Blakey, Wayne Shorter and Hank Mobley are all in the DNA. Latin material sits in the book too. Robin & Sons work as a full quartet, sometimes with a guest, and will scale back to a trio or duo when the room is smaller or the brief is quieter. They bring their own gear to any venue.

What to expect
Four players, all of them out of the same jazz school, and they've clearly done the listening. What lands in the room is straight ahead jazz with the hard bop edge Art Blakey and Hank Mobley made their name on, plus Latin material when the tempo needs lifting. This isn't background wallpaper. It's a group that plays to each other and takes the solos seriously. Robin & Sons will read your venue and pitch the set accordingly, so a gallery opening and a late bar get different treatment from the same band.
On the day
They travel with everything the performance needs, whatever the venue is. No PA to organise, no backline to hire, no gaps to fill on the day. Give them the corner you want them in and they'll work with it.
Performance options
The full quartet is the standard booking. You can add a guest player on top of that for a bigger front line, or go the other way and take the trio when the room is smaller or the brief is quieter.
