The act
Robert Cini writes deeply melodic songs that pull folk, blues, soul, pop, rock and country into the same space, and he sings them with a big soulful voice over intuitive guitar. He's won two Australian Songwriters Awards. Based in Innisfail, he's shared stages with Kate Ceberano, James Reyne, Lisa Mitchell, Glenn Shorrock, Troy Cassar-Daley, John Butler, Lee Kernaghan, Kim Churchill and Busby Marou. Alongside the originals he carries a deep list of covers he can tailor to the occasion, drawing on Ed Sheeran, Jack Johnson, John Mayer, Powderfinger, Hunters & Collectors, Crowded House, Paul Kelly, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters and Tracy Chapman. He asks for a covered performance area, out of the rain and out of harsh sun.

Good to know
What to expect
Robert Cini's songs pull folk, blues, rock and pop into the one place, and they're written to say something rather than just fill a set. The vocals are the thing people notice: soulful, distinctive and capable of carrying a room, whether that room is a quiet acoustic gathering or a festival stage. His sound has been compared to the introspective end of Counting Crows while staying his own. He's shared stages with Kate Ceberano, Lisa Mitchell, Kim Churchill and James Reyne, and the reputation he's built is as a live performer first.
On the day
One thing to organise: a covered performance area with room for Robert and his equipment. That's cover against rain and shade from direct harsh sun, which matters as much for the guitar and gear as it does for him. For an outdoor event, sorting that spot early is worth doing, because a marquee corner or a verandah is usually the answer and those get claimed fast.
