Formed in 2015, Red Hector are a four piece playing Aussie pub rock the way it was meant to sound, and they don't read lyrics off a stand. Three-part vocals, tight arrangements, and the confidence to take a request on the spot. The set draws on Hoodoo Gurus, Cold Chisel, AC/DC, Midnight Oil, The Angels, Hunters and Collectors, Icehouse, Powderfinger, The Church, Spy vs Spy, The Living End and R.E.M. They work Canberra and roughly two hours around it, further by arrangement. Gear is good and it's all tested and tagged. They'll want stage access two hours before and an hour after, and a sound check if you can manage it.

Good to know
What to expect
Aussie pub rock, played tight, by a covers band that isn't reading lyrics off a stand. They're energetic and they talk to the crowd, and they'll take a request and work it out on the spot if somebody calls one, which is a decent measure of how well a band actually knows its material. The style is modelled on the acts that made live music in this country worth turning up for. Travel is usually inside about two hours of Canberra, though further afield can be arranged if you ask.
On the day
Here's a practical way to size your space for a four piece. Could ten people stand shoulder to shoulder across the front of where the stage would be? Then it's wide enough. Could five stand that way for depth? Then there's room for the drum kit behind. You'll want at least two power points, ideally on separate circuits, though they check all that before accepting a booking. Stage access is needed two hours before and one hour after, and that part isn't negotiable. A sound check makes for a better show if you can fit one in.
Performance options
If your booking is more than a single night, talk to them about putting it together as one arrangement. Multiple shows, accommodation and meals can all be built into the same deal, which is worth knowing for a regional booking, a festival across a weekend, or a club running a series. Tell them the shape of what you've got in mind and they'll work out what's possible.
