The act
Deniliquin sits a long way from the big-city function circuit, and Rachael K and The Smoking Gun have built a working band around that. They cover the Riverina and travel further out, playing weddings and functions with a spread that runs blues, jazz, country, rock, soul, pop and funk. The point of that range is practical. Early in the night they'll sit back and play something for a room that's still eating, then push it into rock once people are ready to move. You can take their standard playlist or ask them to reshape it for your night. They bring all their own instruments and gear, and they want a sound check and a stage big enough to work on.

Good to know
What to expect
The band tune the night to the room rather than running one fixed show at everybody. Tell them the sort of event it is and the music your crowd actually likes, and that's what shapes the set. Blues and jazz early while people are still eating, rock and soul once the plates are cleared and someone's ready to move. You can hand them your own preferences or leave the running order to them.
On the day
Every instrument and every piece of gear comes with the band. What they'd like from your end is a stage area big enough for the group to work on, and access to the space beforehand so they can set up properly and run a sound check before guests arrive. Worth pencilling that into the schedule when you're planning the day.
Performance options
Weddings and functions both have their own package, so tell them which one you're planning when you get in touch and they'll outline what that involves. The band will also reshape the standard playlist around your night if the usual running order doesn't suit.
