The act
The costumes matter here. So does Gareth Hill's turn as Freddie Mercury, which carries the whole thing. Queen Forever is a Melbourne tribute band built around the stage show as much as the songs, and it plays to a broad room: teenagers who found the catalogue through a film, and people who heard it the first time round. If you want a 70s and 80s rock set that a mixed-age crowd will actually sing back at you, this is the shape of it.
