The act
Opera, Broadway and cabaret in the one act, sung by serious voices and played for laughs as often as for goosebumps. Pot-Pourri design every show to the client's brief, so no two programs are the same: numbers from Phantom of the Opera, West Side Story, Les Miserables and Chicago sit beside Carmen, La Traviata, Nessun Dorma and Time to Say Goodbye. The Melbourne ensemble are regulars on corporate and conference stages and have performed at major venues, concerts and festivals around the world. Shows range from an intimate cabaret evening to full opera-to-Broadway productions with a grand piano on stage.

What to expect
Serious voices and a lot of laughs, in the same show. Pot-Pourri build every program to your brief, taking in the event, the room and the atmosphere you're after, so no two nights come out the same. Expect Carmen, Lakme, La Traviata and The Pearl Fishers sitting alongside Broadway numbers out of Chicago, Les Miserables, West Side Story and Phantom of the Opera, plus Leonard Cohen, Bocelli, Nessun Dorma and Time to Say Goodbye. They also write original songs and lyrics for clients on whatever subject the night calls for, from banking to medicine to cars. Over 25 years they've played more than 40 countries and released seven albums.
On the day
There's a full stage plan and a detailed lighting spec, so send it to your venue's technical people early. The short version: a grand piano downstage with steps from the stage to the audience, a small cafe table with a cloth, water jug and glasses, a bar stool, a few extra chairs and two small podiums placed out in the audience for larger rooms. Lighting wants a front of house wash, spots on the piano and the table, an overhead colour wash, backlight for a silhouette finish, a strobe and a smoke machine or hazer, all run from a lighting desk. Plenty of flexibility on the lighting, so talk it through with them.
Set List
Several shows to choose from rather than one fixed program. From Figaro to Phantom is the most popular, running opera through to Broadway with interactive comedy holding it together. An Enchanted Evening leans on nostalgia and humour. Come to the Cabaret is the intimate music theatre option, and A Night on Broadway is the family friendly one. For outdoor venues, vineyards, beaches, mountain tops and further out again, there's Opera Under the Stars. Opera Circus puts live opera singers alongside circus artists. Diva features one or more sopranos from Australia's major opera and musical companies, and Diva & Divo is a tailor made set from soprano Tania de Jong AM and baritone Jonathan Morton.
