OOMPA ROCKSTAR (German, Octoberfest, Polka Band)
The act
OOMPA ROCKSTAR (German, Octoberfest, Polka Band) is a Sydney-based party band.
A wedding crowd that loves a bit of organised nonsense, from steins-up singalongs to the Chicken Dance, will get a real kick out of OOMPA ROCKSTAR. They're a Sydney Oktoberfest band in full costume, usually three to five players with clarinet and saxophone, accordion, tuba, drums and a vocalist. The set starts in traditional German territory with favourites like Beer Barrel Polka, then veers into polka takes on rock and pop by artists such as Bon Jovi, Nirvana, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry. For a wedding, this makes most sense where you want people laughing, joining in and doing more than politely swaying, whether that's canapes with a twist or the dance floor later on. If that sounds like your kind of mayhem, hit play or watch a clip on this page.
