Heulen Cynfal is a classically trained soprano working out of Brunswick East. The repertoire is opera and classical song: O Mio Babbino Caro, Vissi d'Arte, Caro Mio Ben, Habanera from Carmen, Sempre libera from La Traviata. Weddings, ceremonies, funerals and galas all sit within the work, and the selection is chosen to match the tone of the day rather than pulled from a standard list. Celtic and Irish material, Christmas carols and children's music are also covered. A solo performance needs roughly three metres square of quiet, well lit space. A stage helps but isn't necessary, and for larger or outdoor rooms a microphone and sound system may be worth arranging.

What to expect
A classically trained soprano voice carrying opera arias and classical song, live and unamplified where the room allows it. O Mio Babbino Caro, Vissi d'Arte, Caro Mio Ben, the Habanera from Carmen, Sempre libera. The pieces are chosen to match the tone of your day rather than pulled off a standard list, so a wedding, a funeral and a gala each get a different selection. Celtic and Irish material, Christmas carols and children's music are covered as well. You can pick from the repertoire yourself or work it out together with Heulen beforehand.
On the day
A solo performance wants roughly three metres square of clear space, quiet and well lit. A raised platform is nice and not necessary. In a large hall or outdoors a microphone and sound system are usually worth arranging, and Heulen will work with your venue's audio people on that directly. Power near the performance spot if amplification is being used. Somewhere for guests to sit matters at an intimate ceremony. Allow thirty minutes to an hour for a rehearsal or soundcheck if the timings need coordinating.
