Moonglow
The act
Jazz, swing and bebop, played by musicians who clearly love the era. Moonglow work without stage gimmicks, which is the point: the music does the lifting. The usual line-up runs vocals, sax, trumpet, piano, bass and drums, though it scales down to a soloist or up past six players depending on the room and the budget. They'll take the standards straight, or give a well known pop tune a jazzed up arrangement if you want the energy up later in the night. Before the date they'll talk through the mood you're after, then play to it. Weddings, corporate events, private parties and dinners around Melbourne.
