The act
The ceremony and early reception are natural places for Moondance to draw on classical, folk and jazz before moving towards soul, pop or rock. The Sydney band combines male and female vocals with instruments including saxophone, flute, violin and guitar. Its full time musicians work across performance, recording, composition and education, and the group has been performing live music since 1998. They listen closely to each client's wishes and bring experience across classical, folk, jazz, rock and blues settings. What to expect
Everyone in Moondance does this for a living. Performing, recording, composing, teaching, all of it, and that background in classical, folk, jazz, rock and blues is why they can move between styles without it sounding like a stretch. They've played festivals and concerts, clubs and pubs, weddings and private parties, corporate nights and tourism events. Before your day they'll talk through what you actually want to hear rather than handing you a fixed programme. Respect for each style is the thread running through the whole thing.
On the day
Flat ground and a power point. Space depends on how many of them you book: a three piece wants about 3.5m wide by 2.5m deep, a four piece 3m by 3.5m, a five piece 4m wide by 3.5m deep, and it scales from there. Worth measuring the corner you have in mind before you settle on a line-up size.
