The act
Miss Katalyna works both sides of the microphone: DJ and MC, quick-witted, and very good at reading which way a room is about to tip. The music is House, Disco, 80s and 90s R&B, Pop and Gospel House, with requests taken on the night. A proud Samoan Fa'afafine trans woman and a twice award-winning TV host, she's performed at Midsumma, Sydney Mardi Gras and the Sydney Opera House. Melbourne based, and she brings her own DJ equipment. She also speaks on culture, diversity and inclusion, so some clients book the talk and the decks separately. Holds a Working with Children Check.

What to expect
High energy, and inclusive by design. Miss Katalyna reads a room and builds a set in real time off what she sees, so it never feels like a playlist someone pressed go on. Classic throwbacks, current hits, house remixes, and requests taken on the night, even ones that turn up at the last minute. She works as MC as well as DJ, which means clear announcements, strong crowd engagement and a warm, confident presence keeping the night moving. Parties, private events, community celebrations. She specialises in all of it.
On the day
She brings her own professional DJ equipment. What needs to come from you or the venue is a PA system with speakers, and those speakers need XLR or RCA inputs, so it's worth confirming that with your venue rather than assuming. Beyond that: access to standard power outlets, and a table or DJ booth to set up on. Outdoors, the set-up area needs to be covered and safe.
Performance options
Nothing here is off a fixed menu. Miss Katalyna builds each booking around the event in front of her, which is why the enquiry matters more than usual. Tell her what the occasion is, what sort of music the room wants, and roughly what you have set aside for entertainment, and she can shape something sensible around all three. Vague enquiries with none of that detail do not get far. On equipment, she arrives with her own DJ gear. The PA is the one thing that needs to come from your side, whether that is the venue's system or something you hire in.
