The act
Mik Henderson has a line about volume that venues appreciate: a wide range of music, played properly, at a level that doesn't annoy your guests or your patrons. He builds the sound to suit. Guitar with backing tracks when a bigger noise is wanted, or acoustic guitar, looper and voice when the night calls for something quieter. He's performed up and down the east coast, plays weekly around Townsville, and has a long run of weddings and corporate events behind him. Packages run three or four hours across three sets, with break music and lighting handled. Setup needs one power outlet and three metres by two.

Good to know
What to expect
A wide spread of music, played well, and pitched at a volume that doesn't wear out your guests or a venue's regulars. That last bit sounds minor and isn't. Plenty of solo acts turn up and play at one level all night. Mik builds the sound to suit the night instead, so a dinner service stays a dinner service and the later part can lift when people are ready for it.
On the day
One 240 volt outlet, and a space of about three metres by two to set up in. That's the whole list, so a corner of a function room or a covered deck works fine.
Performance options
Two lengths to pick from. The three hour booking runs as one 60 minute set and two of 45 minutes. The four hour version follows the same set pattern across the longer night. Break music is chosen to suit what you've got on, so the room never falls silent between sets, and lighting is provided as the gig needs it.
