The act
Three saxophones, clarinet, flute, trumpet, and a voice. Michael Larkin plays the lot, and moves between jazz, blues, funk, soul, pop, Latin and even EDM alongside a DJ. His line on volume is worth quoting back to anyone who's had a bad experience with live music at dinner: it's never too loud. Repertoire runs through Days of Wine and Roses, Careless Whisper, Night and Day, Moondance, Misty, Just the Two of Us and The Girl From Ipanema. He works out of Buderim on the Sunshine Coast and needs almost no room, just enough for a speaker, a mic and the instruments. Versatility is the pitch, but the real skill is reading what a room needs and setting the mood to match.

Good to know
What to expect
One musician, six instruments and a voice. Michael sings and plays three saxophones, clarinet, flute and trumpet, which is why a single booking can cover a jazz set over dinner, something bluesier later and pop or funk when people want to move. Latin sits comfortably in there too. And he works alongside DJs, playing live over the set, so the back end of the night doesn't have to be a straight playlist.
On the day
Barely any floor space is needed. Enough room for a speaker, a microphone stand and the instruments, and he'll fit into a corner most venues had written off as unusable.
